My name is Tom Thaler and I am Senior Product Manager at Software AG. I am responsible for all products in ARIS family, that are related to Process Design and Methodology, Business Dashboarding and Simulation. Previously, I was a researcher at the German Research Center for Aritificial Intelligence (DFKI) and Saarland University. I received my master degree in information systems from the Saarland University and I am currently working on my doctoral thesis in the context of Business Process Management. I received the Best Diploma Award from SERES Unit for one of the best master theses in information systems in 2012 and graduated with honors caused by the University ranking. Before my scientific work, I worked at META-LEVEL Software AG as a Software Developer (especially in web environments) and at SAP as a Business Intelligence Consultant in the German-speaking Europe. In parallel, I ran several projects in the context of business intelligence and social web development as a freelancer. Since 2012, I manage and execute various research projects (e.g. in the context of BPM, Industry 4.0 and E-Government) and run lectures at Saarland University, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and VGU School of Business Informatics. My current research interests include business process matching, natural language processing, business process modeling and process analytics. For my work on process matching I received the Outstanding Matcher Award 2013 in Beijing and also developed an outstanding performaning approach in the Process Model Matching Contest 2015. The results of my research have been published in several conference and workshop proceedings including BPM13/14/15, WI13/15, MKWI14, Informatik14 as well in (transfer) journals like the HMD – Praxis der Wirtschaftsinformatik. I plan to finish my doctoral thesis in 2016.
